Mangaluru, Aug 4: A police team under the leadership of ACP Dhanya Nayak raided the spot where illegal sand was stored near Kodi in Ullal police station limits at about 1 am on Friday, August 4.

The police seized ten loads of sand from the spot.

The police have registered a case against Kodi residents Ummar, Naufal and Hanif in this connection. The accused are absconding.

    There is loads and heaps of sand laying behind the new building showroom of Jayalaxmi Silks in Bannanje being constructed. How are the owners of this property or the construction company of this huge showroom permitted to store such large quantities. From where do they source such large quantities unless there is a legal source selling sand irrespective of the quantity required. Sand smuggling would not exist in Karnataka.!
