Excise inspector of Kumble range got transferred three months ago. The new recruitment is not yet done. At present, H Vinu, excise inspector of Badiyadka range is given the additional responsibility of Kumble range also. However, in place of 13 officials, only nine are available at present. Out of nine, two will be on special duty and one has court related work. One is on vacation due to health issues. Hence, five people are manning the whole Kumble range.

There are many inner roads in villages bordering Karnataka at Kanyana, Dharmathadka, Bayaru, Chevaru, Paivalike and Permude. Black-marketers use these routes for transporting liquor and narcotics. Most of the carriers are beggars and migrant labourers.

Hundreds of vehicles confiscated by Kumble range office are lying in the compound of the office. The vehicles that are confiscated now are parked on roadside of Kumble-Sitangoli stretch. There is parking space at Naikapu near Sitangoli. However, it does not have a compound wall and there are no security guards either. Hence, the confiscated vehicle are not parked there.
