Puttur, Aug 7: Police arrested two men in connection with theft of areca nuts.
The arrested accused are Kiran Kumar and Santhosh, both residents of Kaavu Amchinadka. The main accused of the case, Sinan, is absconding.
The accused stole 200 kg of areca nut and a lawn mowing machine that was kept in the storage room of Vishnu Kalluraya in Amchinadka.
Police recovered 100 kg of areca nut valued at Rs 51000, 20 kg of skinless areca nut, lawn mowing machine valued at Rs 5000 and van that was used in the act of theft.
