Hindus oppose construction of church in Chikkamagaluru village with no Christians

Chikkamagaluru, Aug 7 (IANS): Hindu organisations and villagers have opposed the construction of a church in a village with no Christian households in Karnataka's Chikkamagaluru district.

The church is being constructed in Lokavalli village of Mudigere taluk and the development has already stirred a controversy.

The locals and Hindu organisations have claimed that since there were no Christian families in the village, the church should not be constructed.

The locals have also alleged that the church is being constructed to carry out religious conversions.

The church is constructed in the land of one Ranga, from Haandi village near Mudigere.

The police are yet to react to the issue.

The development has caused concern in the communally sensitive region of Chikkamagaluru which was considered as the bastion of the BJP.

But in the last Assembly elections in May, the BJP suffered a humiliating defeat.

Former National General Secretary C.T. Ravi lost the elections from Chikkamagaluru constituency to his right hand man turned Congress candidate.

    If one can observe the photograph above, the building has one main small door and 2 windows. Building is smaller than 3 bhk apartment space. Few families might be praying during week end. Why this has to bother fanatics. They have lost issues and are desperate for attention.

    God did not create religions, but given free will to choose between good or bad and religions are man made! for divide and rule. As all human beings are with same Divine designed body, soul and spirit. Instead of dipping in far away Jordan river to remove one's sins and guilt these Churches - Christ Hung (for) Us Repent (and) Come Home, As God's mercy available to everyone who want to repent and attain eternal life. A life of love, peace and joy including life after death also as Soul is Eternal. This is internal conversion from bad anger, hatred, lust... to good self control, love and bearing with others to become holy or Divine, as all are children of Most High God (irrespective of religions) or you are gods, so says Holy Scripture.

    No one can object or oppose building a prayer place. It doesn't resemble a church in the first place it bears the shape of house rather. No one can question nor object to raising building in one's own legal land. To pray to God, you need not be converted to different religion. Praying to the creator through one's heart & mind and with faith is more than anything. Who has seen God? but We all believe in God.

If conversion really happens then why christians are just 2% of total population in India. There may be forceful conversions here and there and these need to be stopped and there should be punishment for forceful conversions.

    Today forced conversions are an illusion. It was an excuse to initiate anti-conversion law. Even in case of interfaith marriages a Non-Christian is not compelled to convert. There were no forced conversions even during the British rule, except in Goa in the 16th and 17th centuries when the state was under the Portuguese.

    The structure does not look like a full fledged church and may be belonging to breakaway sects like new life or born again.. Church will only be constructed to serve the Christians in any locality if nearest church is at a considerable distance... We must understand that every church has wards and those wards should have a minimum number of families... As for breakaway sects it can be a prayer hall and can not be called a church...
