Mangaluru: Prices of essential commodities rising under Cong govt – MLA Vedavyas Kamath

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Aug 7: “The prices of essential commodities are sky rocketing from the day the Congress government was formed in Karnataka. Life of commoners has become miserable,” said Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath. He said that the government is looting the public.

Kamath further said, “The government which announced the Gruha Jyothi scheme has increased the electricity tariff. The government which boasts of providing rice that costs Rs 175 for free, has increased the price of milk by Rs three per litre. It is looting Rs 1000 from every household every month. The rate of rice which was around Rs 38-40 three months ago, has touched Rs 50.”

“Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar himself said that it is difficult to accumulate funds for development in the state. The state government is completely neglecting the needs of the common man,” he said.

On 12th May a day before election results Bommai signed the document to raise power tariff as the usage of coal supplied by Adani was raised by PM to benefit his company and thermal power stations were ordered to buy 10% coal from his company itself. Now coming to price rise of essential commodities he must have woken up from slumber. People are suffering since Demonetization and G ST on each and everything. Faulty Covid lockdown and curfews were the final nail. Better ask PM to remember his 2013 and 14 speeches and if he fulfils his promises about gas and fuel prices and ab ki baar slogan unless they were jumles.

Good to hear from Mr. Vedavyas Kamath after so long now. We never heard a word from you in the last two terms of your being MLA about price hike of Gas, Fuel and other necessary items. Suddenly you are so concerned about people. Make a comparison study of price of essential commodities in other states and Karnataka then let us have a debate on this. What is happening to our roads, central market building and other projects under Smart City projects? What about our so called National Highway which is coming under Central Govt? Mr. Kamath, we respect you because of your education and your position. Please respect our situation and do something.
