Kasargod: Two members of gang arrested while stealing vehicle batteries

Kasargod, Aug 6: The Kasargod Town Station police have apprehended two members of a gang who were on a battery stealing spree from the vehicles parked on national highway in Vidyanagar here.

The arrested accused are N A Mirshad Ali (36) and Muhammad Jashir T A (33) of Nayammaramule.

The duo was caught red-handed while stealing the battery from a lorry.

They were part of a battery theft gang targeting parked vehicles, including lorries, along the roadside.

The arrests came after a complaint was lodged about the battery thefts in the Vidyanagar area on the National Highway.

The police who kept a vigil following the complaints, nabbed the duo in the act. They are allegedly responsible for stealing batteries from more than 10 lorries.

Authorities suspect the presence of additional members in the gang.
