Good Move by Mangaluru Commissioner. This should be implemented in Udupi too. Charge hefty fines too for signal jump, Opposite side driving, The fund can be utilised in road development projects. Citizens will get aware and will avoid traffic violations. Hope to see a better and safe roads in our coastal regions.

Most accidents are not accidents by definition -- Reckless irresponsible driving -- Murder on wheels -- India has highest fatalities on roads -- incl injuries --serious -- minor -- permanent disability ---- Also trauma of being involved in accidents -- life long scars -(- women and children -- getting involved needlessly --)-- More have died on roads then in wars in INDIA --

More than 750 deaths on roads in Mangaluru City for 6 years, and increasing. Very poor condition of roads, poor standards of driving and overspeeding. MCC, NHAI, RTO, traffic police have to get their act together. This is not what is expected of government agencies and authorities.

What about violators who park vehicles on footpath and inturn restricting pedestrians from using the footpath? What about city, service and express private buses who stop anywhere allowing passengers to board and alight? In the above cases the police are taken care of very well.

Carrying more passengers than stipulated? Why buses and trains are carrying more passengers? Have you put any case on Govt buses and Central Govt trains? These rules are being applied to urban areas, in rural areas, no police no rules.

Immediate suspension of driving licences must be imposed for heavy vehicles and buses drivers for unilateral reckless accidents causing sizeable casualties... If death occurs due to negligence such persons must not be allowed to earn livelihood by driving... This rule will make commercial drivers to be extra careful on roads...

Cancelling license for not wearing helmet or triple ride is too harsh punishment.. It can be applied after repeated offense, not one time negligence... Too much strictness leads to frustration and migration of population to different place.
