Mangaluru, Aug 16: A Kotekar resident in Ullal taluk has alleged that the tablets given to him for treatment of diabetes looked like rubber and were fake.

Ramagopal Acharya, a resident of Kotekar used to buy tablets for his wife Meena Kumari who is suffering from diabetes from a pharmacy.

When Ramagopal Acharya came across the news that sugar tablets are plastic, he wanted to examine whether the medicines that he bought were fake or real. He experimented with the tablets that he had by dissolving Isryl M (2 mg and 500 mg), Saridon and Calcium tablets in a glass of water in the night. In the morning that followed, he saw that Calcium and Saridon tablets had dissolved, but Isryl M used for treatment of diabetes had got bloated to five times its size and it looked like a rubber.

Surprised and anxious over the result, Ramagopal called up the owner of the pharmacy from where he bought the medicines who said they were getting the medicines officially from the companies. The medical shop owner directed Ramagopal Acharya to call up the medicine manufacturer's call centre to get a clarification.

This is really scary. Once we swallow the tablets, we don't even know what happens to it. This should be investigated thoroughly.

Always check the medicine uses with Google by typing the name of the tablets which are on the strips or on the bottles. Don't take any medicine blindly, always double check before consuming. "You are the first Doctor for your body".

A thorough enquiry must be done to establish whether the drugs were not of good quality. Only after a good investigation we will know the facts!

We swallow the tablets and our job is done. We don't know how long it will take for the contents to get absorbed by our body. Some tablets that look like lime might get dissolved immediately but those like capsules might take longer to break their outer cover. Because the product it is made of, might not be water soluble as are lime based tablets. As such, I don't think there is anything wrong with the tablets shown in the news.

And few MNC companies are emerged with The technology which is really Gives Advantage for the recovery. Hydrophillic Matrix Tecnology for the best results. In this case i am sure that it could be a Extended release tablets preferably Prescribed once daily because it gives 24hrs relief from the disease od disorders. the drug which we take it it will dissolve immediately in the stomach due to acid present inside the stomach and it will never dissolve in normal temperature as he tested in normal water. To confirm the The Reality, please visit the Doctor or physician whoever prescribed it. Because, he can directly contact the Representative of the Company and he can clear his doubts.
