Mangaluru, Aug 22: Suratkal police arrested a youth on the accusation of assaulting people waiting for bus at bus stand, pelting stones on mosque, assaulting students belonging to other community and trying to create communal unrest.
The arrested accused is identified as Chennappa (18), a resident of Ashraya Colony near Suratkal.
On August 16 evening, Roger D’Costa and Jharkhand native Shahil were waiting near a dilapidated house near the road that leads to Janata Colony in order to protect themselves from heavy rain. During that time, they were assaulted by many youths including Prashant Bhandary and Basavaraj.
Both Prashant and Basavaraj were arrested on August 17. However, Chennappa was absconding. He was arrested on Tuesday and produced in court.
