Bantwal, Aug 24: Expressing strong opposition to the arrest of Satish Davangere, the Karnataka South Province co-ordinator of HJV (Hindu Jagran Vedike), following his nationalistic speech on Akhand Sankalpa Day, and denouncing what they termed the "anti-Hindu policy" of the state's Congress government, a protest was organized near the private bus stand on B C Road in Dakshina Kannada district on Monday evening.
During the gathering, Narasimha Mani, the district coordinator of HJV, addressed the attendees. He conveyed, "With the ascent of the Congress government to power in the state, we are witnessing a rise in oppression against Hindu leaders and activists. The Hindu community cannot remain passive to this situation. If such actions persist, we are prepared to vehemently oppose them. Moreover, there have been reports of unlawful activities, including cattle trafficking, occurring in the border region of Vittal."
He went on to call for immediate intervention by the police department to curb these activities.
The protest witnessed the presence of prominent HJV leaders including Raviraj B C Road and Mangaluru Metropolitan District's organizing secretary, Prashant Daregudde. District leaders such as Samit Raj Daregudde, Prakash Kumpala, Arun Sajeepa, Ganesh Kedila, Balakrishna Kalai, and Ravi Pradagudde were also in attendance. From the political spectrum, BJP leaders Ramdas Bantwala and Keshav Daipala, along with local workers and Sangh Pariwar leaders, participated in the demonstration.
