London, Aug 9 (IANS) British Prime Minister David Cameron Tuesday pledged to do "everything necessary" to restore order following the third night of violence and looting across London and other cities.
Cameron condemned the "sickening" scenes of arson and called the unrest "criminality - pure and simple".
He said there would be 16,000 police officers on the streets Tuesday night with reinforcements from across the country.
Cameron said the government would unleash "the full force of the law" against rioters. He also announced that parliament would meet Thursday to discuss the violence.
