Beltangady, Aug 10: Sacred Heart English Medium School of Madantyar parish organized an awareness rally on ecology, cleanliness, care for nature, plastic-free world, and afforestation were some of the themes which were exhibited through banners, placards, and slogans.

Madantyar assistant parish priest Fr Rohith D’Costa inaugurated the rally on the church premises here on Sunday morning.

Sacred Heart Pre-University College principal Mathew N M and Salesian Convent superior Sr Cecelia Crasta were also present.

The rally began from the entrance of the church, passing through Madantyar town before concluding.  The school band, bulbuls, cubs, scouts, and guides accompanied by teachers added colour to the rally.

As the students were marching, they conveyed the message of the importance of building the nation through their own daily activities.

The school tries to instil in the students the spirit of patriotism through various activities.  The well-prepared rally achieved this aim.  Head teacher Sr Shiny Alphonse and the staff took a keen interest in the all round development of the students.
