Udupi, Aug 30: The launch of the Gruhalaxmi scheme in Udupi district was witnessed by thousands of beneficiaries through a live broadcast.
The Udupi district administration orchestrated the event at the Basel Missionaries Auditorium, where the beneficiaries of the scheme actively participated.
Dr K Vidyakumari, deputy commissioner of Udupi, spoke to the media and stated, "All Gruhalaxmi beneficiaries have attended today's program. They have received notifications of the scheme amounts being credited to their accounts. Out of the 2.56 lakh ration card holders with women as heads of the family, 2,08,000 have registered for the scheme. This program is being live telecast in 214 locations across our district."
The event was simultaneously organized in various gram panchayats and wards throughout the Udupi district.
The occasion saw the presence of Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi, Prasanna, CEO of the zilla panchayat, members of the CMC, and a large number of beneficiaries.
