Beltangady: Four including toddler seriously injured after bikes collide head-on

Beltangady, Aug 31: Four people, including a toddler, were seriously injured as two bikes collided head-on near Kallagudde in Melanthabettu village here on Wednesday August 30.

The injured are Rakesh (24) who was on his from Beltangady to Savanalu, Thomas Carlo (62) who was going towards Beltangady from Savanalu and Benedict Fernandes (54). All the three received grievous injuries on their heads.

Three-year-old Jeeth Melron Pinto was also injured and admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

    very strange to know how two bikes meet with accident? they must be travelling at high speed? or one must be trying to overtake...very dangerous to drive or ride in third world countries...apaaya kattitta buthi

    Perhaps you failed to notice the info that the bikes collided head on. Clearly they're travelling in opposite directions. Whether one was on wrong side or not is not known but not surprising if the case. How many times have we seen motorists going in wrong directions on traffic lanes! All head injuries also make it possible none were using proper helmets. People buying back cover and tempered glass to protect mobile phones but not bothered to protect own heads! Sad.
