Bijapur: Prisoner Commits Suicide

Bijapur, Aug 10: In an incident that occurred at the central jail here on Tuesday August 9, a prisoner committed suicide inside the jail premises. The policemen said that Ravi Ramanna Myageri (22), a native of Casba Jambagi village in Mudhol taluk, Bagalkot district, ended his life.

The fast track court at Jamakhandi had sentenced Myageri to life term imprisonment relating to the murder of a villager named Satyappa Maradi at Casba Jambagi village in 2009. He had been lodged at the central jail with prisoner badge No. 4463.

On Tuesday, he visited the toilet and hanged himself from the window of the toilet by using the towel,  officials of the central jail said.
