Mangalore, Aug 10: Karnataka State Rural Weightage Teachers and Employees Forum announced that a meeting would be convened at the DYFI office–Vikas, here on Sunday August 14 at 11.00 am to discuss the future course of action in their struggle to urge the state authorities to consider their years of service in hiking their salaries and accruals.
 
Forum president K N Umesh will preside over the meeting.  The Forum’s district president Shivaram Shetty urged all employees to attend the meeting.
 
The state has been considering only seven years of service in hiking the salaries, in spite of some employees putting in 12 years of service.  Meanwhile, the hike in salaries and other arrears considering 12 years of service was discontinued due to the struggle of Forum with effect from April 28, 2011 by the state education department.  The Forum urged the state authorities to resolve the issue permanently by necessary amendment to 2003 rule 4 (1) and 4 (2) to safeguard their due entitlement.
 
The meeting will be decisive in taking the future course of action in their struggle, stated the press release issued by Shivaram Shetty.
