Mangalore: Competitions Held in Commemoration of Quit India Movement

Mangalore, Aug 10: In commemoration of the ‘Quit India Movement’ initiated by Mahatma Gandhi at Mahathma Gandhi Hall in Tagore Park here, the Mahathma Gandhi Peace Movement organized elocution and patriotic music competition for school students on Tuesday August 9.


 
The chief guest of the occasion DDPI Moses Jayashekar garlanded the statue of Gandhiji to inaugurate the event and said that students should pledge to make India a hunger free nation.

President of Sri Devi Education Foundation A Sadananda Shetty claimed that patriotism among students could be invoked by conducting such programmes.
 
The treasurer P Sadananda welcomed the gathering and joint director Prabhakar Shriyan proposed the vote of thanks.
