Mangalore: Entrepreneur B M Farookh Appointed NMPT Trustee

Mangalore, Aug 16: The Government of India has appointed chairman and managing director of Fiza Group of Companies B M Farookh as a trustee of the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT).

Farookh, a leading entrepreneur in the field of non-conventional energy was appointed under Major Port Trust Act 1963, according to Gazette notification issued by the ministry of shipping. He hails from Surathkal and has been appointed trustee of NMPT for the second time.

B M Farookh is the president of Bearys Welfare Association, Bangalore and also the owner of Team Mangalore United which won the second edition of KPL tournament. He is a philanthropist too and heads many socio-cultural organizations.

His tenure as trustee of NMPT will end in 2013.
