Mangalore, Aug 17: Head of Research at Beltone Financials, Cairo, Egypt, Angus Blair visited St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), Beeri here on Tuesday August 16.

Blair spoke to the MBA students of AIMIT on some of the crucial issues in financial sector and especially on the ethical issues relating to the functioning of companies and financial institutions. Giving some concrete examples he explained that financial crises could have been avoided if the persons at the helm of affairs were honest and owned responsibility for their actions and not cover up the mistakes they made. He said that honesty and transparency is very important and then only there could be better functioning of business firms.

The formal session was followed by a question and answer round where few students asked questions on various issues relating to financial services.

Blair hails from Scotland and has been a global leader and thinker in financial sector and investment banking. He has been interviewed by CNBC on finance related subjects and has been giving lectures around the world. He is also one among the top fifty thinkers invited by Bloomberg for a special conference in New York.
 
He has over 25 years of experience in investment banking and financial service sector. He has also been a consultant to a number of companies within Middle East and Internationally, advising on restructuring and extending operations across the Arab world.
