Udupi: Malpe B Krishna Chosen for ‘Chayaspoorti Award’ by UPPA

Udupi, Aug 18: Udupi Press Photographers’ Association (UPPA) selected Malpe B Krishna, owner of Basant Studio at Malpe, for the ‘Chayaspoorti Award’ for his distinct contributions in four decades of a career in photography.
UPPA will confer the award on ‘World Photography Day’ on Friday August 19.

Krishna is a native of Kundapur and has a studio in Malpe.  Several youngsters who were trained at his studio have their own businesses now.  He had contributed his expertise during the filming of ‘Biseeda Bale’ and ‘Koti–Chennaya’ movies.  Krishna is a dedicated cameraman who clicks pictures of ghastly accidents in his neighbourhood and is also known for his human virtues.

He is also involved with the South Kanara Photographers’ Association and Kulal Sangh.

UPPA has been celebrating World Photography Day in a unique manner and this year, it has organized an exhibition on ‘Moods of Sri Krishna Leelotsav’ at Krishna Mutt here on Friday August 19, stated their media release.
