‘No matter what, believe in yourself, work hard and keep going': Samata Amin

Mangaluru Sep 29: Samata Amin had a dream debut in Coastalwood with ‘Gosmari family’ is looking forward to her next Tulu film ‘Pulimunchi’ directed by Trishul Shetty and will be releasing on October 27th.

Samatha Amin will play lead role along with VJ Vineeth, while Rahul Amin, Aradhya Shetty, Swaraj Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Umesh Mijar, Naveen D Padil, Sai Krishna Kudla, Prasanna Shetty Bailur, Sandeep Shetty, Ravi Ramkunja, Santhosh Shetty, Namitha Kulur, Advika Shetty are playing prominent role in the movie.

Samata Amin hails from Mangaluru and born and brought up in Mumbai. She has graduated Management Studies in HR specialization and diploma in software. Apart from acting, Samata is inclined towards dancing. She also worked as background dancer in movies like Saaho, Maari 2, and Sammy 2. Samata has also worked as a dance teacher in schools.

Samata Amin says, “As we humans all have a natural tendency to dream, I, too, had a dream. However, I never believed it would come true. But when I started believing in it and working hard, with God's blessings, my mother's support, and the love and encouragement of our Tulunadu people, I managed to turn that dream into reality. Now, my only wish is to continue working diligently, giving my best every day, and moving forward."

“I am forever grateful to the audience who showered love on my debut film. I am looking forward to receive the same love and support from the audience for my second movie ‘Pulimunchi,” she said.

Speaking about her character in ‘Pulimunchi’, Samata Amin said, “I am so excited for it because it is the first time I have tried to play a different character. In Pulimunchi, Sindhu is one character but you will see different genres in one character. I never believed I could crack this until the director of the movie Trishul Shetty made me believe that I can do it.

“We Mangalureans know by the name how special the dish Pulimunchi Sindhu and is a favourite dish of every Tuluva. Pulimunchi is a dish which is known for the mixtures of different flavours, so has our director Trishul Shetty, tried putting all the flavours of Pulimunchi in the movie, through artistes. It will be complete two hours of entertainment filled with laughter, where in the movie you will be seeing all the different flavours in different characters. The audience will never go back disappointed after watching the movie,” said Samata Amin.

Speaking about sharing screen space with Arjun Kapikad and VJ Vineeth, Samata Amin said, “I am very much thankful to the directors and producers for having me on board for their projects. When you get opportunity to work on different films, you also get an opportunity to work with different artistes, and one can learn so much from their achievements and experiences. So it has been a great experience for me till now to be sharing screen and working with my co-stars and all the artistes of Coastalwood.

“There are so many positive things that I have taken from ‘Gosmari Family’ for a lifetime. ‘Gosmari Family’ is the reason behind the chance to work in ‘Pulimunchi’. No matter what, believe in yourself, work hard and keep going,” she said.

Speaking about her upcoming projects, Samata Amin says, “There are two projects in Tulu which I am working on and also working on a Kannada project.”
