Mangaluru: Mandd Sobhann celebrates International Music Day, felicitates music teacher

Mangaluru, Oct 2: On October 1, The international singing team Sumel of Mandd Sobhann celebrated International Music Day at Kalangann.

During the program, music teacher Simon Pais Bajal was honored, and Sunil Monteiro read the letter of felicitation. Office bearers Louis J Pinto, Navin Lobo, Elron Rodrigues, and Sumel coordinator Raina Sequeira conducted the felicitations.

The 262nd monthly repertory Vijevine Viol Vine musical evening commenced with Simon Pais Bajal, the recipient of the felicitation, ringing the bell. Songs in various languages, including Konkani, Hindi, Kannada, Bengali, English, Spanish, and Sri Lankan, were sung, and instrumental music was presented.

The musical performances featured Irene Rebello, Raina Sequeira, Jasmine Lobo, Preeti Lopez, Kavita George, Sonal Monteiro, Flavia Mascarenhas, Melvita D’ Souza, Velani Goveas, Varlene Goveas, Cleon D’Silva, Elron Rodrigues, Hedan Sequeira, Olin Theodore, Nishan Tauro, Reuben Mendonca, Fevin D’Souza, Brayan Sequeira, Neil D’Souza, and Ketan Castelino. They showcased their talent and entertained the audience.

Russel Rodrigues played the guitar, Shawn Pinto handled the drums and Kahun, Reuben Machado played the flute, Anson Rodrigues performed on the violin, Milton Braggs handled the Bazz, Meqvil Crasta played the Piano and guitar, and Ketan Castelino cooperated on the Piano. The program concluded with a Sri Lankan baila performance.

Irene Rebello and Raina Sequeira served as the comperes for the program.
