Mangaluru: ASHA worker falsely accused of wrongdoing on social media

Mangaluru, Oct 5: An ASHA worker was falsely accused on social media when she went to collect information on vaccination of children and pregnant women.

Giving details in a statement, medical officer said, “Prabha Gayatri works as ASHA worker at city primary health care centre, Bejai. On October 3, she visited an apartment building in Bejai to collect data on children and pregnant women vaccination under Indra Dhanush programme. During the visit, false accusations are done about Prabha on social media.

“Due to this false accusation, Prabha is depressed. Other staff who work for the community are also pained by this attitude of public.

“Hence, we the doctor and staff of the health department, request citizens to behave responsibly before creating false accusations on social media and cooperate with our sincere efforts,” said the medical officer.
