Mangaluru: Shortage of KSRTC buses – Students travel on footboard of bus, video goes viral

Mangaluru, Oct 6: A video of students travelling on footboard of KSRTC buses has gone viral on social media.

The video was captured near Karinje of Bantwal taluk on Friday October 65 morning.

Students are forced to take the risk due to the shortage of government buses.

Young children are also forced to stand on the footboard. The bus in the video belongs to Bantwal KSRTC division.

    This shouldn’t be allowed. Just recently we heard about the tragic death of a conductor. Police should be vigilant. There were private buses on this route a few years back. Why were they stopped? They should be permitted again allowing some concession to students.

    Government busses were less in Mangaluru because of the private bus lobby.
