Udupi, Oct 8: Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo emphasized the potential for students to achieve great heights in life through excellence in their academic endeavors. He made these remarks during the inauguration of a talent award program held at the diocese center in Ambagilu on Sunday.
Bishop Lobo encouraged students to explore the wide field of education, recognizing the numerous opportunities available to showcase their talents. He particularly urged students from the Christian community to consider pursuing careers in government service, emphasizing the need to tap into the many opportunities within society.
Dr Chales Lobo delivered the keynote address, echoing the sentiment that students from the Christian community should actively seek government employment. He highlighted that starting this endeavor at the primary level could significantly increase the chances of success.
During the event, students who achieved high marks in the last academic year in SSLC were honored. Additionally, Dr Cindrella Gonsalves, who earned a PhD, and Vinal Joseph D'Costa, who passed the CA examination, were felicitated.
Santhosh Cornelio presided over the function, with John Gladys D'Silva, Msgr Ferdinand Gonsalves, Ronald Almeida, Gerald Rodrigues, and Valerian Fernandes in attendance.
Dr Gerald Pinto extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while secretary Olivia D'Mello proposed a vote of thanks. The event was compered by Lerissa D'Souza.
