Mangaluru, Oct 9: The Konkani film 'Osmitay,' produced by Mandd Sobhann, has completed 25 successful days in theaters across the coastal districts of undivided Dakshina Kannada.
Since its release, 'Osmitay' has been screened nearly 300 times along the Karnataka coast and has received an overwhelming response from the audience. The movie's storyline, which includes elements of history, has attracted large audiences to theaters. 'Osmitay' primarily focuses on celebrating the Konkani language through the medium of cinema. The film stands out for its authentic portrayal of characters and its solid foundation, crafted by the legendary Eric Ozario. Beyond mere celebration, the movie offers a more realistic and linguistic representation of a community, blending dialects, regional diversity, and folk art.
In addition to celebrating its successful 25 days, the movie team has announced premier shows in foreign countries. The 'Osmitay' team in the UAE has also announced that its first premier shows will be held in Dubai and Sharjah.
Directed by Vilas Rathnakar Kshatriya and produced by Louis J Pinto under the Mandd Sobhann Productions banner, 'Osmitay' features Ashwin D Costa and Wencita Dias in the lead roles.
