Thane, Aug 22: “Education is the base for a healthy society and human life is a struggle that has to be lived with dignity. It’s not an easy task to run a business or educational institutions. The efforts of enterprising Albert W D’Souza are indeed commendable,” said Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza.
The Bishop was speaking after inaugurating St John Technical Hospitality and Catering Technology College located at St John Technical Education Complex, Manohar Road, Vevoor, Palghar, Thane district, on Monday August 22.
He hoped that Eldel Education Trust promoted by Albert W D’Souza extends its reach across the nation.
Grace Pinto, managing director, Ryan International Group of Educational Institutions, appreciated the entrepreneurial acumen of Albert D’Souza in setting up many educational institutions. She called upon the teachers to instil Indian cultural values among the students.
In his introductory address, Albert D’Souza said that it is the duty of everyone to lead a dignified life and education empowers one in this direction. He added that the Christian values that he fostered in life have been guiding him to set up educational institutions for the masses.
Principals Dr Kiran Taklikar, Dr Savita J Tauro, Dr Lata Ramachandran, advisor Dr S Krishnamurti, and Dr A C Augustine spoke on educational values.
Palghar parish priest Fr Abraham Gomes, Anandashram head Sr Vibha Francis, Sr Clara Furtado, Sr Vinuta D’Souza, Louisa D’Souza, entrepreneur Pricilla Walter Bothello and other religious leaders were present on the occasion.
Trust director Elvina A D’Souza and Anil D’Sa introduced the guests.
