Puttur, Aug 23: In an accident that occurred at Kalleri in Karaya village on Monday August 22, a motor bike and a Mahindra pickup truck got involved in a head-on collision. Karaya lies on the road between Uppinangady and Guruvayanakere.
Lokaiah (55), a native of Karaya village, who was riding the motor bike, sustained serious injuries. He was admitted into a hospital in Mangalore after providing first aid, but could not be saved.
In the accident, Kishore, who was riding in the pillion, also suffered grave injuries. He too is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Mangalore.
A case about the incident was registered in the local police station. The policemen have begun investigation.
