Bantwal: Accused Arrested After 20 Years

Bantwal, Aug 24: On Tuesday August 23, the policemen arrested a person from Koppala in Shambhoor village in the taluk. The accused, named Abubakker (52) is allegedly involved with a 20-year-old crime.

It is said that Abubakker had assaulted Gangadhar Poojary from Kundayagoli with a sickle, and snapped one of his fingers, relating to land dispute. He had gone missing since then.

The operation was led by station house officer of rural police station, Mohammed Rafique. It is gathered that the policemen were tipped off about the return of Abubakker to his native place from a foreign country recently.
