Puttur: Truck laden with rice goes up in flames

Puttur, Oct 22: A truck laden with rice got gutted in fire at Shiradi Ghat in the night on October 20.

The truck was going towards Mangaluru from Hassan. The driver noticed fire at the Double turn bend of Shiradi Ghat. Both Driver and cleaner parked the vehicle by the side of the road, got down and escaped from danger.

The truck was completely reduced ashes as well as the rice.

Fire service personnel who arrived from Hassan doused the fire. Traffic affected on National highway for more than two hours due to the mishap.

    I doubt here ,whether rice was there in the truck.Or firewas broken after rice was emptied.?Have to be investigated properly.
