Mumbai, Sep 13: Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, who made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees in 2016, has announced her pregnancy in an understated social media post.
The actor shared a photograph of herself in a flowing white gown, proudly showing her baby bump. With one hand placed on her bump, Mahira looked relaxed and radiant as she kept the announcement simple and personal.
“We make plans and then there is ALLAH’S plan,” Mahira wrote in the caption.
The post was soon flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers as the actor prepares to welcome a new member into her family.
Mahira opted for a full-sleeved white gown that fell loosely around her, keeping the look simple and allowing the photograph to focus on the special moment. Her understated appearance and relaxed pose added to the intimate nature of the announcement.
The actor is currently attending the Toronto International Film Festival 2026, where she moderated a conversation as part of the festival’s Community Impact programming and was honoured for her contribution to cinema.
Mahira's pregnancy comes nearly three years after she married businessman Salim Karim in October 2023. The baby will be the couple's first child together and Mahira's second.
The actor is already a mother to her 17-year-old son, Azlan, whom she shares with her first husband, Ali Askari. Azlan was also present at her wedding and walked her down the aisle as she married Karim.
Mahira is among Pakistan's best-known actors, with a career spanning television and films. She became a household name through popular dramas including Humsafar before making her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.
She has since appeared in a mix of mainstream and performance-oriented projects, including Shehr-e-Zaat, Sadqay Tumhare, Bin Roye, Superstar and The Legend of Maula Jatt. Beyond acting, Mahira has represented Pakistan at international platforms and established herself as a prominent figure in fashion and pop culture.
