Mangaluru, Oct 24: Josita Anola Rodrigues will star in upcoming Telugu fantasy drama movie ‘Kannappa’ directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh.
The movie is based on the mythological story of Kannappa, on the true story of one of Shiva's greatest devotee during the 6th to 8th centuries. The film was produced by Mohan Babu through his companies 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment. The screenplay was written by Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Thota Prasad, Sainath Thotapalli, and Sai Madhav Burra. The film stars Vishnu Manchu in the title role.
The principal photography will take place in a single schedule in New Zealand. Originally shot in Telugu, the film will be dubbed and released in multiple Indian languages. Kannappa also stars Prabhas, Mohan Lal, Shivaraj Kumar, Preity Mukhundhan and Satwika Jampa.
Josita started her movie career with debut in the Harry Fernandes directorial Konkani movie ‘Zanvoy no 1’. She went on to do a web series in Hindi titled Punch Beat, Kannada web series Physco directed by Raam Theja and Bobby. Josita also worked in TV serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehelatha Hai, lead in Kannada film Anjan, and Tamil movie Kadal Niluve.
After the successful outing in modelling, Sandalwood, Bollywood, Josita grabbed the star-studded project titled Kannappa which is a pan India movie.
Josita relocated to New Zealand and has been there for the past eight months. She was engaged to Leander Rodrigues who has been the part of Daijiworld reality show ‘Naach Nara Naach Nari’ and many more. He is a registered nurse by profession and currently working as a service manager at Idea Services. Josita and Leander host dance workshops in New Zealand and living their dreams together. “He has been the biggest support system to me, my biggest cheerleader, always encouraging me to reach for the stars in acting and modelling,” says Josita.
Speaking to daijiworld.com Josita said, “It was always a dream to star in a mythological movie. Playing such kind of a role was something that I always wanted to do. I just could not resist being a part of this incredible film with an all-star cast and captivating storyline. I should call it as my luck or destiny that the shoot was planned to happen in New Zealand and as I have relocated here, things automatically fell into the right place I can say.”
