Udupi, Oct 25: Kiran Kumar Shetty, the accused in the Dalit atrocity and theft incident that transpired in Kota police station, has vehemently denied the allegations against him.

During a press conference in Udupi, Kiran Kumar Shetty shared his perspective. He stated, "On September 1st and 2nd, laborers were engaged in construction work at my residence. It was during this period that I discovered a loss of 27 grams of gold valued at 2,00,000 rupees. When I inquired about this loss with the laborers, Sujata Kulal and Asha Shetty, their behavior inside and outside my house raised suspicions, particularly concerning the CCTV cameras. Initially, they were hesitant to provide explanations. I lodged a complaint regarding this incident with the Kot Thane police. The case is presently under police investigation, but it seems the investigation is focusing on the wrong aspects."

Kiran Kumar Shetty, who faces allegations of police misconduct, also added, "The police have conducted their inquiry, and no wrongdoing on my part has been found. Sujata belongs to the Kulal caste, and Asha belongs to the Shetty caste. Therefore, how can this be classified as a Dalit atrocity case? The accusations against me are baseless. During their visit to the police station, they used abusive language and engaged in name-calling, and these incidents were captured by the CCTV cameras in my residence. I have provided this footage to the police department. These false accusations are an attempt to tarnish my family's reputation. Organizations advocating for the cause should ascertain the truth of the matter and not unduly pressure the police department, as this would be unjust. I have neither received any gold nor have I been involved in any wrongdoing, and I urge their cooperation with the ongoing investigation."

Sandeep and Manish were also present during the press conference.
