New Delhi, Jun 29: Ladakh-based climate activist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk on Sunday began a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, with six students joining the protest in support of their demands.

Wangchuk, known for his work in sustainable development and education, started the fast as part of a campaign seeking attention towards issues related to Ladakh and its future governance.

The protest at Jantar Mantar saw participation from students who joined Wangchuk in the hunger strike, expressing solidarity with the concerns raised by the activist.

Wangchuk has previously led campaigns highlighting demands related to environmental protection, constitutional safeguards and greater representation for Ladakh.
