Bantwal: Attempt to sell stolen parts of excavator – Thieves caught, handed over to police

Bantwal, Oct 27: A team chased three people of Bihar and Jharkhand origin, who were attempting to sell stolen parts of an excavator, transporting the same in an auto rickshaw, assaulted them and handed over to police on October 26 under Vittal police station. The photo and video of the incident has gone viral on social media but no case is registered.

It is said that the gang handed over three people, one local resident of Medu and one each from Bihar and Jharkhand. However, as both the gangs were involved in the crime, it is said, that the matter is resolved among themselves.

The three thieves stole the excavator parts near Kanyana and came to the scrap shop at Vittal to sell the same. A gang which got information about the same, arrived to the scrap sellers shop. The three accused tried to escape in the auto rickshaw. The gang chased them and waylaid them at Kadambu, assaulted the thieves and also damaged the auto rickshaw. Later, they were handed over to Vittal police station.

The owner of the excavator did not file complaint as he recovered the stolen parts. The accused who were assaulted by the other gang also did not show any interest to file a case.
