Mangalore: Drizzle During Day, Downpour at Night

Mangalore, Aug 26: The monsoon remained weak in Karnataka coast on Thursday August 25. Black clouds gathered in the evening, and good rainfall was registered at night. The twin-districts remained almost dry till afternoon, with occasional drizzle at a few places.

The only incident of loss due to rain was reported from Chitrapady near Saligrama in udupi taluk, where a wall of house belonging to Paravati Ganesh Ganiga collapsed, inflicting a loss of about Rs 30,000 on the family.

Raichur district received good rain. The coastal region received between three and four cm of rain on Thursday. The meteorological department has predicted good rain up to 65 mm during the next two days. It expects wind with a speed of 45 to 55 km per hour to blow over the coast during this period.
