Udupi, Aug 26: Jamat-e-Islami-Hind of Kaup, near here, organized an Iftar meet recently.
Mohammed Kunhi, convener, youth wing of Jamat-e-Islami-Hind, Bangalore, in his presidential address, said that fasting during Ramzan cleanses the mind and soul by tithes, and meditation on Holy Scriptures.
Austin Rodrigues, principal, Dandateerta Pre-University College, conveyed best wishes for those observing fast during Ramzan.
Nadikere Ratnakar Shetty, Habib Ahmed Kazi, Jaffer Tower owner Lutfulla, and Mallar gram panchayat president Satish Shetty were present on the dais.
Moulana Muvaz read the scriptural verses. Teacher Shafi compered the programme. Jamat-e-Islami-Hind Kaup unit president Lutfulla delivered the introductory address while Anwar Ali proposed the vote of thanks.
