Kundapur, Oct 28: Dalith Sangarsha Samithi (DSS) and other like-minded organisations staged a protest in front of Kota police station on Saturday, October 28 demanding suspension of PSI (crime) Sudha Prabhu for alleged police atrocity against labours Asha and Sujatha.
Addressing the gathering, prominent district advocate of DSS T Manjunath Giliyar said, "Atrocity against the women labours which took place in Kota police station is an inhuman act. Such atrocity cannot be tolerated. If victims do not get justice, in the coming days, we will hold a protest in front of the office of the superintendent of police. And when the district in-charge minister visits the district, we will lay siege to her car.”
“The SP has not considered this incident as a serious matter. To protect the police department staff, tactics of serving notices to agitators and issuing threats are being done. In the coming days, we will hold agitation against the SP,” said organization leader Sundar Master.
“The issue will brought to the notice of the chief minister and home minister during their visit to the district,” said the protesters.
Tight police security was deployed on the spot.
Brahmavar circle inspector Diwakar who visited the spot, received a memorandum from the protesters. Brahmavar PSI Rajesh Vandali was present.
