Moodbidri: Interstate bike thieves apprehended, two-wheelers seized

Moodbidri, Oct 29: A police team led by Moodbidri Police Inspector Sandesh P G arrested interstate thieves on Friday who were responsible for bike thefts within the jurisdictions of Moodbidri and Murudeshwara police stations. The police confiscated bikes worth Rs 1.8 lac from the arrested culprits.

The arrested individuals are Akash Kalki and Veerendra, both hailing from Tumkur. The police were conducting vehicle checks near Mahaveera College in Moodbidri when they spotted the duo riding a bike. The pair refused to stop and attempted to flee after making a U-turn. However, the police gave chase and intercepted them.

During the subsequent interrogation, it was revealed that the duo had stolen bikes that were parked in front of Jain PU College in Moodbidri and at Murudeshwar. Both stolen bikes were seized by the police.
