Mangaluru: Enchanting festivities of Karnataka Rajyotsava unfurled at St Agnes CBSE School

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Karnataka Rajyotsava marks the vibrant celebration of the unity of Karnataka, aglow with fervour and exuberance in the Kannada-speaking regions on November 1.  

At St Agnes CBSE School, the spirit of Karnataka Rajyotsava is kindled with a spark of ardour and zeal, igniting the blaze of celebration. The programme commenced with the invocation of divine blessings. The students welcomed the gathering with their rhythmic movements and graceful steps. The essence and significance of the day was highlighted on the occasion. The bewitching songs spoke of the radiant glory of the Kannada language. It was followed by the mesmerizing display of dance performance.

Priya Noronha, the esteemed chief guest and Kannada faculty at St Agnes CBSE School encouraged all students to delve into the world of Kannada literature and groove to the beats of well-known musicians. Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of the Kannada language which has remained relevant over time due to the significant contribution of renowned writers. She urged the students to explore Kannada newspapers and commended them for delivering a worthwhile programme.

On this occasion, the teacher and the students who participated in various sports events were honoured. The DK Masters Athletic Championship was organised on October 29 at Mangala Stadium, Savitha Varadraj had participated in the event and secured first place in javelin throw and II place in triple jump. Adithi K P secured first place in the 50 mts race and first place in long jump. Advika K P secured first place in long jump and first place in 100 mts race.

The programme was graced by the presence of the principal, Sr Maria Sarika AC, the vice principal, Sr Lenita Lobo AC, the faculty and students.

The programme was hosted by Ganavi and Reishan Maria Fernandes. Tanvi welcomed the gathering and Shaivi extended appreciation for the enthusiastic participation, during the vote of thanks. The programme culminated with the rendition of Nada Geethe.
