Investor awareness programme held at Dr P Dayananda Pai – P Satisha Pai Govt First Grade College

Mangaluru, Nov 3: An investor awareness programme was held on the campus for PG students (M Com, Pol Science & Social Work) of Dr P Dayananda Pai – P Satisha Pai Govt First Grade College on November 2. It was the initiative of IQAC of the College in association with PG departments of Commerce, Political Science & Social Work in collaboration with the Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association (MUCTA).

The day began with an inaugural programme. A invocation was sung by Sudiksha of I M Com, Dr Lokeshnath B, coordinator of M Com welcomed the gathering, Prof Nagappa K, chief academic coordinator (PG section), Suvarnamalini B, HoD of Commerce, Naseema Begum, assistant professor. Department of Political Science graced the inaugural programme

It was presided over by Prof Jayakara Bhandary M, principal of the college and a prelude to IAP was given by Louis Manoj, general secretary of MUCTA.

The day had three sessions:

Session 1: Financial Literacy by Naveen Rego, SEBI registered investment advisor from Mangaluru

Session 2: Back to Basics by Leo Amal A, senior branch manager, Franklin Templeton India Private Ltd and

Session 3: Hands on Personal Investment Planning was taken up by Sapna Shenoy, an investment services professional from Mangaluru.

In all, 185 PG students and five teachers from the college benefited from this programme.
