Bantwal: One injured in car-truck collision

Bantwal, Nov 10: Driver of a car got injured as his vehicle collided with a truck near Loretto on Bantwal-Moodbidri stretch on the morning of Thursday.

The injured car driver is Krishna Arasa, a native of Mysuru. He was taking his daughter, who is studying in Moodbidri, to Mysuru for Deepavali holidays. It is said that the truck laden with asphalt belonging to the contractor who is undertaking highway work collided against the car due to the negligent driving of the truck driver.

More than 50 people gathered on the spot and protested against the rash driving of the truck driver. Public said that earlier also due to the high speed of the trucks belonging to KNR construction many accidents have occurred. Public says that the drivers of trucks are using earphones and sitting in AC cabins putting the lives of other vehicle drivers in danger.

Bantwal traffic PSI Suthesh, Sanjeeva, ASI Suresh Padaru, personnel Vivek and Santhosh pacified the public and brought the situation under control.
