M’lore: DK Anti-Corruption Forum Conducts Inter-Collegiate Elocution Competition

Mangalore. Aug 29: Dakshina Kannada Anti-Corruption forum conducted inter-collegiate elocution competition on the subject "Corruption in out society and remedies to remove it" for college students here on Sunday August 28.

The contest was organized by DK Anti Corruption Forum as a part of its campaign to create awareness about the issue among the youth.

In his inaugural speech, Sajeev Krishnan, Chief Vigilance Officer from Corporation Bank  said, “Today's youth should develop a value system that checks the corrupt practices in our midst; they have a greater responsibility on their shoulders in containing the menace of corruption".
Convener of the Forum, T R Bhat welcomed and gave an introduction to the program.
47 degree students from various colleges of DK and Udupi district participated in the day long programme.

Most student speakers voiced their view that combating corruption  started with oneself, change that begins at the level of the individual would grow to solve the monstrous problem.

Veteran freedom fighter B Namdev Shenoy addressed them and called upon them to build a corruption free society. Prof Joselyn Lobo of Roshni Nilaya gave away the prizes and urged upon the students to uphold the Truth and honesty in their future life. P Nithyananda Rao proposed the vote of thanks.

Prize Winers of the contest:

1st prize: Akshaya Gokhale of Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala
2nd Prize: Santhosh Prabhu of Sri Bhuvanendra College, Karkala
3rd Prize: Thansif BM of SDM College, Ujire.
