Udupi: Manipal Institute of Technology hosts insightful Blockchain workshop

Udupi, Nov 14: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) successfully conducted a highly engaging two-day workshop on blockchain technology on November 10 and 11. Titled "Unlocking the Power of Blockchain Technology," this event was a part of the prestigious annual technical series, AiCom-2023 (Advances in Computing-2023).

The workshop began with an inaugural ceremony led by the esteemed director of MIT, Commander (Dr) Anil Rana. His address laid the foundation for an insightful journey into the evolving world of computer science, with a particular focus on the significance of blockchain technology.

Dr Krishnamoorthi Makkithaya, head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering at MIT, along with Dr Mamatha Balachandra and Dr Narendra V G, professors in the same department, spearheaded the event. Their expert guidance ensured a comprehensive exchange of knowledge. The workshop was further enriched by Lohith J J and Manoj T, who shared valuable insights into research, publication, and potential startup concepts related to blockchain technology. The event drew over 100 participants from various parts of India, reflecting its wide-reaching impact.

The workshop concluded with a grand valedictory ceremony, graced by Dr Somashekara Bhat, joint director of MIT, as the guest of honour. Dr Bhat's address highlighted the transformative impact of blockchain technology in the field of computer science. The ceremony also included interactive sessions for feedback and honored the resource persons for their significant contributions to the workshop's success.

MIT's dedication to fostering innovation and technological advancements was clearly showcased through this workshop. Events under the AiCom-2023 series continue to establish MIT as a leading institution in technological education and research.
