Puttur, Aug 31: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, Krishna J Palemar, paid a surprise visit to the taluk office here on Tuesday August 30, and warned the tahsildar and other officials about the delay in disposal of files and other deficiencies. “During my visit to government offices, I will pardon the mistakes of employees for the first time. However, if the same mistake is found to have been repeated, disciplinary action will be initiated without fail,” he said.

He revealed that the government plans to fill in the unfilled vacancies in government offices by hiring workers on contract basis. He observed that shortage of staff cannot be the only cause for delayed execution of each and every work. After speaking to several applicants who were waiting at the office for their work to be done, he asked the tahsildar, Dr Dase Gowda, not to harass people who come to the office for minor jobs. He warned the employees of the office that they will be held accountable for keeping thousands of applications received from people belonging to scheduled castes and tribes pending for years together.

During his visit to the survey office of the revenue department, he took serious note of the fact that long-pending files had piled up there too.

Puttur taluk panchayat president, D Shambhu Bhat, taluk panchayat member, Bhaskar Gowda Ichalampady, BJP leaders, Gopalakrishna Herle, Nanya Achut Mooditaya and Chanila Timmappa Shetty accompanied the minister during the visit.
