Karkala: House Crashes – Providential Escape for Family

Karkala, Sep 5: Because of heavy rain, a house belonging to Vittal Poojary, a resident of Ganadabettu in Kaltoor village near Hebri in  the taluk, crashed to the ground on Sunday September 4 morning.

Vittal Poojary was inside the house at the time. As soon as he heard cracking sound, he ran outside the house. The walls of his house crumbled to the ground at that instant. Luckily, his four children and wife were not inside the house then.

Poojary, who is poverty-stricken, ekes out a living by working as a tailor. His wife works as a labourer. The family, which has lost its house, now awaits help from the gram panchayat, government and organizations.
