Coast Guard rescues 27 from missing fishing boat in Arabian Sea

Karwar, Dec 6: Indian Coast Guard staff rescued 27 fishermen who went missing along with their fishing boat in the Arabian Sea for the last four days and brought them to Karwar port.

The boat with the fishermen was reported to be missing at a distance of 30 nautical miles of the Arabian Sea was rescued after nine hours of operation in rough weather. The fishermen reached safely to Karwar fisheries port.

The fishing boat, Christo Ray from Panaji, faced problems in its engine due to bad weather and lost its way as it could not approach any nearby port. It lost communication of the fisheries department. As the message was conveyed to Goa police and Karnataka police, Coast Guard help was requested.

As the boat could not contact the land nor obtain the wireless network, it was difficult to spot it initially. The Coast Guard officials informed that all the fishermen on the boat are safe.

    during the rule of Sidda devaraya everyone who is missing will be traced as all the police, coastguard are having strict instructions....govt employees in high posts have lost thier sleep and are taking sleeping tablets as lokayukta is raiding them everywhere...

    Look at the condition of boat. This is how third world countries portray their standard..Lack of maintenance may put the lives of fishermen under risk
