Udupi, Dec 7: A differently-abled elderly man (above 60) is on a tour around the country on a wheel chair in order to promote world peace and harmony.

Manjunath, a native of Savadatti, Belagavi began his journey in December 2021. He began tour from Uttarakhand and has reached Udupi now. He has covered more than 4000 km of distance on his wheel chair. He has the ambition of reaching Ayodhya, birth place of Lord Sri Rama.

Manjunath has already covered Tirupati, Rameshwara, Kanyakumari, Koodalasangama, Channabasaveshwara, Mahalaxmi Kolhapura, Pandaripura, Dharmasthala and many other temples. He reached Udupi on Thursday to take darshan of Lord Sri Krishna.

Manjunath begins his daily travel in wheel chair at 6 am and covers as much distance as possible till dark. He spends night near temples or other places and then continues his journey.

Manjunath had taken all India tour on bicycle twice. However, he met with accident on his second tour and lost strength in his right leg. He cannot walk even 100 meters now. However, his grit has made him to take all India tour on wheel chair.

Manjunath says, “Though it is dangerous to move on road on wheel chair, I have continued due to help from local people. Many people have helped me. Many provide me food and snacks also. I used to like religion and religiousness right from my childhood. My name itself is Manjunath. I want to reach Ayodhya for the inauguration of Ram Mandir. I face health problems as the water I consume varies. I cannot walk more also.”

@real kujuma kodial why are you making fun of him? Let him do what he wishes. There is nothing like trying . One has to determine to do and will also be successful. Since he can't walk, he decided to go further with wheel chair. Otherwise when he sits in the corner as you say , he will deteriorate. If a good Samaritan feels pity on him and gives a lift with a vehicle might reach before as planned. Even when he doesn't reach on time , God may be pleased with his determination. Wish him atleast success .We don't know what with us may happen tomorrow. One who laughs last may be the best.
