Media Release

Mangaluru, Dec 9: In a momentous medical achievement, Srinivas Hospital at Mukka has successfully conducted a life-saving surgery on a 30-year-old patient, removing a sizable brain tumour that had previously posed a grave threat to his life.

Chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao and pro-chancellor of Srinivas University and vice president of A Shama Rao Foundation Dr A Srinivas Rao appreciated the lead neurosurgeon, Dr Deepak for his successful surgery. Dr Deepak expressed his delight and contentment with the surgery's outcome, showcasing the hospital's commitment to excellence in patient care.

The patient, referred to Dr Deepak by a fellow medical school batch mate from Raichur, had faced a setback with a failed surgery in July, abandoned due to excessive bleeding. However, thanks to the advanced medical technology and expertise available at Srinivas Hospital Mukka, the patient's condition witnessed a remarkable turnaround.

Dr Deepak, visibly delighted with the successful operation, stated, "The removal of the brain tumour was a complex and challenging procedure, but with the support of our dedicated team and the advanced equipment at our disposal, we achieved a positive outcome. This success underscores the importance of staying at the forefront of medical technology to provide the best possible care to our patients."

In a heart-warming turn of events for the 30-year-old father of two from Raichur, the surgery addressed his debilitating symptoms, including hearing loss, visual blurring, headache, and persistent vomiting. Despite a previous failed surgery, the patient's condition drastically improved after the meticulous procedure performed by the neurosurgery team at Srinivas Hospital Mukka.

Dr Deepak, along with Dr Prashanth, professor of anaesthesia, and the dedicated postgraduates, nurses, and support staff, worked tirelessly to remove the large and critical brainstem tumour. The surgery, conducted with state-of-the-art equipment, resulted in the complete removal of the tumour without causing new nerve deficits, leading to a significant improvement in the patient's previous dysfunction. The tumour's benign nature signifies a complete cure, allowing the patient to return home as a new man, walking on his feet, free from the life-threatening condition.

The success of this surgery not only serves as a beacon of hope for patients facing similar conditions but also solidifies Srinivas Hospital Mukka's reputation as a leading healthcare institution in the region, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of medical excellence.
