Kundapur, Dec 14: The vespers and annual feast of Immaculate Conception of Blessed Virgin Mary Church Gangolli was held on December 5. The ritual of worship of God's word was celebrated with the motto ‘Believe in Jesus and do as He said,’ the palanquin procession of Immaculate Conception took place with great fanfare.
This ritual was performed by Fr Cante Barboza, the parish priest of Kandlur church. In his homily he said, "Trusting in Jesus is the foundation of our life. If we have to trust in our daily life, we should do good deeds as Jesus said, but we do not think that we have faith in God. This is wrong. We know what is wrong and what is right, if you do something wrong, you lose God's trust. Life without faith in God is meaningless. Mother Mary was blessed not because she was the mother of Jesus, but because she had great faith in Jesus. Jesus changed what was water into wine. As Mary asked, even though I did not have the time to perform miracles, Mary had great faith in Jesus, so he told the servants to do it and went away. As Jesus said to the servants, water is filled in big earthen pots. When Jesus blesses it, the water turns into wine. That means we should have unwavering faith in Jesus and pray.”
The parish priests of Gangolli church Fr Thomas Roshan D'Souza offered the salutation. Kundapur church parish priest Fr Stany Tauro participated in the prayer ritual. Priests of all the churches of Kundapur, deanery dedicated to Saint Juje Vaz, priests of Katkhare Bala Yesu Ashram, priests of Don Bosco Institute, and guest priests participated in the vespers celebrations. For the first time, the display of laser lighting and firecrackers with new technology was attractive and appreciated by people.
